DUMPY BISCUIT

By Holly Carpenter

To be fair, I feel like, deep down I knew I preferred steak to chicken but like who orders

steak or kidneys in Port Talbot?

Skylar is back in their hometown, Port Talbot, after some time in London. They’re beginning to embrace their new queer identity and their view of the world has changed, but the same can’t be said for everyone. Megan, Jess and Courtney all have their own shit going on and the group’s enthusiasm for Skylar’s return quickly fades when old habits come into play. With Jess’ boyfriend raising eyebrows, Megan’s flat raising noise complaints and Courtney’s behaviour raising Skylar’s heart rate, will the four PT powerhouses find a way to stick together? Or will a conversation about Ron Evans pies be enough to tip them all over the edge…

Dumpy Biscuit is the unapologetically funny and fiercely authentic debut play by Holly Carpenter, following four friends as they navigate their friendship and sexualities in that famous steel-working town, Port Talbot.

“I fod yn deg, rwy’n teimlo, yn y bôn roeddwn yn gwybod bod yn well gen i stêc na chyw iâr ond pwy sy’n archebu stêc neu iau yn Port Talbot?”

My Skylar yn ôl yn eu tref enedigol, Port Talbot, ar ôl cyfnod yn Llundain. Maen nhw’n dechrau derbyn eu hunaniaeth cwiar newydd ac mae eu barn am y byd wedi newid, ond ni all yr un peth gael ei ddweud am bawb. Mae gan Megan, Jess a Courtney i gyd eu trafferthion eu hunain ac mae brwdfrydedd y grŵp bod Skylar yn dod yn ôl yn pylu’n fuan pan ddaw hen arferion i’r amlwg. Gyda chariad Jess yn codi ei aeliau, cwynion am sŵn o fflat Megan ac ymddygiad Courtney y cyflymu calon Skylar, fydd y pedwar grymus o Bort Talbot yn dod o hyd i ffordd i gadw gyda’i gilydd? Neu a fydd sgwrs am beis Ron Evans yn ddigon i’w taflu dros y dibyn...

Dumpy Biscuit yw drama gyntaf ddoniol a ffyrnig o ddilys Holly Carpenter, sy’n dilyn pedwar ffrind wrth iddynt drafod eu cyfeillgarwch a’u rhywioldeb yn y dre ddur enwog honno, Port Talbot.
